Cyber language, also known as Netspeak, is the language of cyberspace, or the realm of electronic communication. It is commonly used in electronic mail; Internet chat rooms, which allow computer users to communicate with each other in real time; and in text messages sent between cellular phones using the short message service, or SMS.

  Adults tend to view the Internet as a practical tool, while teenagers may see it as a social networking tool. Teenagers can develop technological skills faster than critical thinking and judgment skills, and by using cyber language they create a generation gap, communicating with their peers in a way that can't be understood by their parents or other adults. Some educators question whether cyber language encourages teenagers to develop new communication and literacy skills or, in fact, causes them to lose some of the skills they already have. A social networking service is an online service, platform, or site that focuses on building and reflecting of social networks or social relations among people.

• It consists of a representation of each user (often a profile), his/her social links, and a variety of additional services. 
• Most social network services are web-based and provide means for users to interact over the Internet, such as e-mail and instant messaging.
• It allow users to share ideas, activities, events, and interests within their individual networks.

Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140characters, known as "tweets". 

It was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and launched that July.

• Tweets are publicly visible by default; however, senders can restrict message delivery to just their followers. 

• Users can tweet via the Twitter website, compatible external applications (such as forsmartphones), or by Short Message Service (SMS) available in certain countries. 

• Users may subscribe to other users' tweets – this is known as following and subscribers are known as followers or tweeps (Twitter + peeps).

• The users can also check the people who are un-subscribing them on Twitter better known as unfollowing via various services.

• Twitter allows users the ability to update their profile by using their mobile phone either by text messaging or by apps released for certain smartphones / tablets.

Today most people connect each other through social networking and not to forget some are addicted to this sites and spend the rest of time socializing here. this actually brings harm to themselves cause usually they will tend to be more anti-social in the real world. they might be a hero in those sites but in this real world they might also just a loser. what do you think ?

Asynchronous & Synchronous Learning

any idea what is actually asynchronous or synchronous learning is ?

Asynchronous e-learning is commonly facilitated by media such as e-mail and discussion boards, supports work relations among learners and with teachers, even when participants cannot be online at the same time. Asynchronous e-learning makes it possible for learners to log on to an e-learning environment at any time and download documents or send messages to teachers or peers. Students may spend more time refining their contributions, which are generally considered more thoughtful compared to synchronous communication.

Synchronous e-learning, is commonly supported by media such as videoconferencing and chat, has the potential to support e-learners in the development of learning communities. Learners and teachers experience synchronous e-learning as more social and avoid frustration by asking and answering questions in real time.⁸ Synchronous sessions help e-learners feel like participants rather than isolates.

today people are more exposed to various kind of learning such as asynchronous and synchronous learning. asynchronous is more to face to face learning that requires face to face interaction while synchronous learning are more to self paced learning. both this learning technique have its cons and pros but which is more efficient in delivering the information to its audiences because each individual have different style of learning. what do you think?

Tools needed to surf the Net. :)

everything we do in this world needs it tools so does when you're searching the web. 

there are three main tools that needed to surf the web

• Computer with a web browser application installed
• Modem and/or NIC (network interface card)
• ISP (internet service provider)

let me explain one by one. ;)

What is web browser?

• web browser is a software program used to access the World Wide Web. A browser retrieves data from remote web servers and displays a web page.

Examples : Google Chrome, Internet Explorer , Netscape Navigator ,Firefox Mozilla, Opera and Safari.

What is a modem?

• A device or program that enables a computer to transmit data over analogue telephone lines. Computer information is stored digitally, whereas information transmitted over telephone lines is transmitted in the form of analogue waves.

• A modem converts between these two forms.

What is a NIC?

• The hardware device that connects your computer to a network.

last but not least,

What is an ISP (internet service provider)?

•    Company that offers its customer’s access to the Internet.

•   The ISP connects to its customers using a data                     transmission technology appropriate for delivering    Internet Protocol datagrams, such as dial-up, DSL, cable modem, wireless or dedicated high-speed interconnects.

•     ISPs may provide Internet e-mail accounts to users which allow them to communicate with one another by sending and receiving electronic messages through their ISP's servers.

 Examples: UniFi, p1 Wimax, Celcom, Maxis, DiGi.

There are many inventions nowadays that does not use any modem right now. smartphone user especially have their own tools to connect themselves to the internet. so, is there any relevance of modem usage nowadays for the internet user. what do you think?

what is ELECTRONIC LEARNING ?

it is actually one of the futuristic learning method that most educational institutions used nowadays.

to be more precise, ELECTRONIC LEARNING is a computer and network-enabled transfer of skills and knowledge. ;)

E-learning applications and processes include Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual education opportunities and digital collaboration. Content is delivered via the Internet, intranet/extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV, and CD-ROM. It can be self-paced or instructor-led and includes media in the form of text, image, animation, streaming video and audio.

A virtual learning environment (VLE) is an education system based on the Web that models conventional real-world education by integrating a set of equivalent virtual concepts for tests, homework, classes, classrooms, and the like, and perhaps even museums and other external academic resources.

It normally uses Web 2.0 tools for 2-way interaction, and includes a content management system.

A virtual learning environment can also include students and teacher “meeting” online through a synchronous web-based application. The teacher is able to present lessons through video, PowerPoint, or chatting. The students are able to talk with other students and the teacher, as well as collaborate with each other, answer questions, or pose questions. They can use the tools available through the application to virtually raise their hand, send messages, or answer questions on the screen given by the teacher.

nowadays, there are many educational institution had apply this learning in their learning styles including MALAYSIA. this learning styles is very efficient and convenient to the students, teachers and lecturers. it is for me applicable for secondary and tertiary level but it does not really suits the primary level of education because they still need teachers to guide them and lack of guidance can bring harm to them because they are expose to many information that are not suitable with them. what do you think?
